Alright. Well I think I had a spiritual experience. A few days ago, I subjected myself to some psychoactive drugs. Yesterday morning, I woke up and ended up in the bathroom thinking I was gonna die (y'know how the drugs can do that to you). Now I'm not one to believe in God or anything, but I started praying and asked for God to protect me. All of a sudden I felt this warmth in my body and even though my mind was screaming to do one thing, my body seemed to have a mind of it's own. I walked to the sink and started splashing cold water all over my arms and my face and then I started walking towards the kitchen and I kept rubbing the cold water in circles on my face even though I looked like a fool. I got to the kitchen and my brain said to make coffee to sober up but my body got a cup and filled it with water and I must've drank like 4 big cups. And, I tell you, the whole time, I felt completely safe. Like nothing could hurt me at all. I felt like I could walk through hell and be perfectly safe. I don't know if it was the pills that were just playing with my mind or if it was the real thing.

Another thing that happened was me getting hypnotized. Alright, well my friend tony is completely...out there. Does all that black magic and stuff. Like, we were playing poker, and even though we all took turns shuffling the cards, tony still got a flush 5 times in a row and one time, a 4 of a kind. That night, we were all in the room with the air conditioner, cuz it was hot, and we had the lights out.
Tony started walking us through it, telling us to close our eyes and that sort of stuff. Then he started speaking in some other language and we all passed out and we woke up together. I don't know what he had us doing but it was cool. He said the language was a "dead language" that was before egyptian. I had no idea that hypnosis was real, as I'm not one to believe in things like that. He said that anyone can be hypnotized, but when you're high, you're more "open" to things like that.

Tony was also riding my bike last night to go get some more pills and he got hit by a car. He came back though and was completely fine, like he just walked away from that. At first I didn't believe him but he showed us a big gash on his leg. How many people just walk away from getting hit by a car?

Another strange thing is that while I was having that spiritual experience, I had this strong urge to stay away from Tony.

I've talked with one of my friends who also took the pills and we both agree that Tony's obviously the "cult leader" type. We felt a strong urge to do anything Tony said. Which is weird, because Tony's always been the quiet one.

I don't know what to think as I'm still tripping. I took those pills like 2-3 days ago and I still can't get sober, even though it only lasts about 8 hours for my friends. Coffee and sleep doesn't seem to help. I'm hoping it'll just go away sometime soon. Any suggestions/comments?

Hi, Everyone!

I think you're right, El: many of the so-called "primitive" peoples have knowledge of spiritual things far beyond us. I like the fact that people, like the Aborigines in Australia, call this "reality" we live in "the Dream." A lot of "primitive" people look at this world much the same as Quantum Physicists do: it is malleable, and affected--and changed--by thought and intention.

I've begun to practice "creating my own reality," so to speak...I've seen some remarkable things happen when I see my intention as a "done deal," rather than a wishful thought, or something afar off that has not transpired yet.

I believe we can learn a lot from the "primitive" peoples of our world...One thing I'm sure we'd discover is that they're not as "primitive" as we had previously thought!

Have a great week!

Your Pal,
Cal

I dont really know the right words but it's like to say that they spent far more time on the inside, whereas we have become obsessed with the outside. I think their understanding of this world and reality was more correct and it posed a threat to the so called civilized world. But that's just my own opinion.

But as far as the drugs thing, I still wouldnt suggest it. People have been able to achieve much without them. There are many techniques that dont require drugs at all. Edgar Cayce would put himself in a trance-like state, almost a sort of self hypnosis. Nostradamus would meditate but not how we think of meditating today. He was more of a true scryer and preferred the staring techniques, if I remember correctly.

That's a really interesting perspective.

I really don't know. Who am I to say. They believed and that's what is important. The African tribes and Native American Indians for example where some of the ones who had choosen a much better way in my opinion. They knew things that we are just now starting to consider today in areas like quantum physics. I don't know much about their languages but I think as far ahead as we are them in technology, they were likely just as far ahead of us spiritually/consciously, if not more so.

You think those old ancient languages used in rituals are real?

The idea is to use mind altering drugs to disrupt the brain enough to allow the higher self to come through. The brain voice is so loud sometimes and this is just one of many ways to quiet it while you are trying to get through. But there can sometimes be nasty side effects. I wouldnt suggest playing with it unless you've had experience in this area. It could be very dangerous to somebody just experimenting with it for the first time. A lot of times, people try this who dont know enough about the old traditions or the drug they've chosen. They end up doing more harm then good. I think I would suggest meditation or self hypnosis before I would try drugs. You have to know what type of drug to use, appropriate amount that wont harm your system but still produce desired effect, etc.... We have similar drugs but the knowledge of the rituals and ceremonies is what's lacking and without that, you are just putting yourself at risk.

Hey, treborn!

I know what you mean. I do understand that many people use drugs, even as Grey said in reference to Native American rituals, to try to experience the supernatural. I'm just not convinced that it's the best way. I don't want to judge anyone on what they do in their quest for enlightenment...I just have chosen to walk a different path.

Thanks for understanding, and I wish you the best in your quest!

Your Pal,
Cal

(Cal.)

I beleive like you i want to say that drugs are no way to go at the dead or ghost as we speak but that was a theory.

I've heard about that. I've even seen it in movies. Religion: one of the biggest crackpot schemes ever created.

There's a group of native spiritualists who believe in reaching spiritual enlightenment using Peyote. I respect their beliefs, but doubt that they have a spiritual experience, merely hallucinate.

It's conducted by a group with a shaman, but still...

Well...

I'm not sure I'd put much faith in any group that would promote drugs as a way to spiritual enlightenment, as we really don't need to go that route in order to obtain such enlightenment. There are other, safer routes.

As I have stated, I have never resorted to mind-altering substances to effect spiritual experiences, or enlightenment (if you don't favor the term "spirituality"). I know people who have done so, but none of them, in retrospect, have favorable things to say about their drug-induced experiences--even the ones that seemed "great" at the time.

I don't believe we need to use drugs to reach enlightenment in any area, or to experience the supernatural. I believe we all--everyone of us--have the ability to experience the supernatural; it's just that we have been taught we cannot do this, so we believe we cannot...unless we alter our minds through drugs, etc.

I'm no slamming anyone who uses drugs, so please don't think I am. It's just that drugs can be dangerous, and can both negatively affect our minds, as well as our bodies. I hate to think of anyone compromising their mental faculties or their bodily health, in order to experience things which we can experience through other, safer means.

That's just my take on the issue; I wish you well on your journey, on whatever path you choose to take.

Your Pal,
Cal

There are people as psychics who beleave in such a way to be able to see into the goast relm.

but in science's way is drugs.

"peyote"

Brandon,

I know you don't know me, like Grey and Elrick do, but I've been around the forum for quite a few years, so all of the consistent posters seem like family, in a way. I am one of those rare birds who never took drugs or smoked cigarettes or drank to get drunk (I have a couple of glasses of wine a year--whoopee! ) I've always gotten my "highs" from the peacefulness & beauty of Nature--a long walk in the woods, a hike in the mountains, a day spent near a winding, babbling brook, et al. I also meditate, and--because I believe in the holographic universe theory--I try each day to create my "reality" through meditation and positive speech. Sounds boringly simplistic, but--dang!--seems to work whenever I'm consistent with it.

I agree with El & Grey that you need to be careful around certain folk--even those you have termed "friends." Sometimes even friends can get off into things that are harmful and destructive.

You seem to sincerely want to make some positive changes and walk a more constructive path. That is good, and I think you are right to feel that way. So go for it! I'm sure you know we all back you here!

As for spirituality...I am a spiritual person. Not a religious one, but I do believe in spirituality. I believe there is a force, a power, greater than us--call that power "God" or what have you. You may have had some sort of spiritual experience, but, as El & Grey both commented, it is difficult to tell whether it was real or a byproduct of the drugs. Try meditating when your mind is free and clear of drugs and see what happens then.

Oh...El: I congratulate you on finding your spirituality without the drugs, etc. I know some folks think they need them to open up doors into the spirit realm, or what have you, but I don't subscribe to that philosophy. You CAN become further enlightened (and I believe better so) through healthy meditation, as one avenue.

Hope this is helpful!

Have a safe & happy week!

Your Pal,
Cal
