If aliens came down and said hello, would we accept them? Some of us can't get on with people from another part of our own planet so how would we react to aliens?

The question depends on how we see them. For instance, if we were to have a civilization with both races in it, then some of the other race may not be able to go to certain stores. there may be signs stating " for humans only". That would be racism. But if we get over our petty differences and act like mature people, then we may be able to create a vast civilization that is very successful.

That's true. If we were to have a war, we would be too busy destroying ourselves to fight. Perhaps some intelligent beings already know about us, and are waiting to make contact until we are a more mature race. that would make sense.

I have thought about this subject previously, but replacing Aliens with Jesus or God.
I have come to think that, if something great came, be that Aliens, Jesus, God, etc... No one would believe that it actually happened, except the eye-witnesses, since any videos or photos would be prooved fake by Scientists and they would blah on about having no legitiment proof.
That's MY theory. I don't think we would attack them or anything. I think we would be talking alot with them, but then after a day or two the do-gooders would jump in and bull**** about the dangers and health and safety violation possibilities. After that, I also think other governments, probably the Russian, Japanese, Chinese and US if the alien isn't there, will bitch about unfair distribution of the aliens whatever... And then after that they'd bitch about the technological, scientific, biological, blah blah advancements that they were getting and that they other goverments, were NOT getting..
So, frankly it would be better if they came here when political correctness and all those bull**** rights and laws were gone ;)

The thing is, joshrick, you make sense that we wouldn't see them properly,but they won't come down until we are mature. If i were an alien president, or dictator, or etc. i would not want to make contact with such an arrogant and violent race such as Humanity, so they won't, and can't come until we are totally wiser and smarter, and more peaceful.

I honestly don't think that'll ever happen since wickedness, crime etc has become an accepted part of life.
I have always wanted to fly to another planet and colonise it properly, according to my views...
Build everything around the environment, and have a better government system and make sure that everyone respects each other, and I would try to make things like murder un heard of in future generations :D

thats why, since the evil power hungry people won't succumb to obedience, we should get rid of them. If you can't make a person good, then get rid of them. Not kill them, no, we should put them in a secluded area where they won't be able to harm anyone. then, we may live in peace.

Adam & Eve decided to stop us from ever havign a good world.
And you can't do that these days due to Politic Reasons. So unless someone becomes president of America and SOMEHOW turns it into a dictatorship system or communist system, there will be NO way that'll EVER happen..
Unless of course 95% of humans are knocked out.

Of course it will never happen IF you don't believe it will. The first step to achieving something is believing you can. If everybody just pitched in and did their part, we would be living in a large empire, and their would be no war or hunger, only exellence. And because we are not wasting our time killing each other, our empire may flourish, and Humahnity may rise up.

Lol.. The thing is, once and IF that ever happened.. When we rose to "excellence" there would be a group, a minority lets say who will try and overthrow the empire and change it to their beliefs and all that...

Sort of like the Rebel Alliance in the Star wars trilogy. but, our empire would be so vast, that there would be no way for them to make their voices heard. We could simply execute them, and then we would rise to exellence.

I like the empire in episodes 1,2 of star wars... :)

I personally like the empire in episodes 4,5, and 6 (sith empire). but that was a movie; in real life, we would have to have an empire that everyone likes,and it would be fair. so these people that we execute, they deserved it. It isn't cause we're evil,no we would give them equality, but if they were to rebel, than they would be breaking the law, and therefore have to be punished.

You can't have a democracy based empire. It's stupidly hard, because people will complain about everything and it'll just die.
You can only have an empire built on dictatorship, MAYBE communism (even thought it doesn't work in practise).
