The new version will start next Tuesday night at 8pm on ABC. Will you be watching it? I have to work but I plan on recording it so I can watch it later. Hmmmm reptillian aliens, should be interesting. I enjoyed the original series very much when I was a kid.

the original was fantastic, I wonder how they'll manage to **** on this classic?
It keeps going on and on and on and on, when will it stop, when did it start? |

I thought we had this posted some time back as well. Maybe it wasnt in its own thread and was mentioned somewhere. But since it starts next week I figured I had better post it again.

Eh, what, Abductodude?
Burn? Burn what?
Somebody out there...help me, please...I'm dreadfully out of the loop!
As for the original "V" series...DANG, El! You were a KID??? Boy, that makes me feel really, really old...
I was married with a child then. And in my 20s...(Ah, those were the days, my friend!)
I also watched the original "V" every week, from Episode One right through the conclusion of the series. Quite good, considering the decade it aired. Those reptilian aliens were kinda creepy, though...except for the one nice male alien, who was in love with the blond-haired sorta ditsy human female. Do any of you older posters know what horror movie character this "reptilian" actor went on to portray? It made him famous.
I plan to watch the remake this week. We'll all have to meet here and discuss what we think of it...
Have a great weekend!

Well of course, good old Robert England. I wont spoil it though (probably already did for the older posters). I think his name was Willie. And don't forget, the "Beastmaster" also stared in this series as one of the leaders of the resistance. I think the original series started in 1983 which would have made me 10 years old when it first aired. I'm still a young pup I guess but even if I were to live to be 100, it is but the blink of an eye. I hope this new one does justice to the original.
We've been talking about disclosure a lot lately. I always like to pay attention to media and entertainment to see what images/concepts are being projected into society. They seem to often use movies and such to either instill fear, a concept or test public reaction. We have the Fourth Kind and the new V series which will re-enforce fear of negative aliens in the mindset of the public. If disclosure happens soon as some are saying it will, there is going to be much mistrust initially. Should be interesting to see what happens....if anything.

I watched the entire V series yesterday on SyFy (the old one from '83 of course). It was cool to see it again after so long, but looking at it again the special effects were REALLy cheesy...lol. But hey, it was the early 80s right?
I'm looking forward to the new series tomorrow night. I just wonder if it will get enough ratings to get to the really good stuff. The whole thing with the visitors being outed for what they really are didn't even happen until the second episode of V - The Final Battle which was a good 8 1/2 hours into the whole thing. |

| I will be watching, tonite, I remember the original, I would like to see it again to remind me though, bummed I missed the original V marathon, I heard a short outtake on the radio something like " They are hovering over every major city in the world!!" I love that stuff, reminded me a little of District 9 which I really enjoyed, cant wait to read some reviews 2morrow |

It wasn't bad actually. I wont say too much since you haven't seen it yet H/A. A couple things I found somewhat annoying was just shortly into the show after the visitors show us, they jump ahead 3 weeks. Then about 2/3 of the way through we find ourselves in a warehouse where this guy is already telling people that these are lizards disguised as humans and they aren't just getting here, they've been here a while planning all of this. I was almost expecting them to shapeshift but I guess they are still playing on the reptiles covered in fake human skin. I guess they dont want it to be too close to the rumored truth. Like when they all show up at the beginning and everything is shaking. If they were trying to go with actual reports we would have seen electromagnetic disturbances instead of earthquakes. I didn't really understand everything shaking. They should have had electronic devices failing or something. All in all though, it wasnt bad for the first episode. Anybody know if this is going to be consecutive nights or is it going to be every Tuesday? And is this just a miniseries or a new show?

I wonder if there is some hidden message in this V series.
Is someone trying to tell us that the lizard people are really coming to earth or maybe they are just telling us that aliens are real.

| I thought it was great, the way the "Visitors" calmed the world population by turning the bottom of there ship into a giant tv screen and "anna" reassured us humans all is ok we are here in peace, pretty brilliant, If ever the ets do stop by that would be the way to do it, then also the 2 priests with conflictions about the whole deal, so true too what I believe would happen, there church was full that sunday, I was impressed with the first episode for one hour they set up a lot of stuff going on, thats gotta be tricky to do, apparentley it is a series so I guess we will see how it turns out |

That's why I was wondering how long it would take to get to the good stuff. The American population doesn't have the attention span it did back in 1983. If they would have taken that long now the show would be off of the air in 6 weeks!
I have to say though, it was pretty good. I was trying to connect the new series with the old one while I was watching. I wonder who the love connection is gonna be that produces the hybrid baby this time? Or if they're even gonna go that route? I'll definitely be tuning in again next week. |

I enjoyed it too. Did you guys catch it though? The supposed "good" Visitors bring with them the promise of hope, change and universal health care for mankind....gee, where have we heard that before? I'll be tuning in next week as well.
