I'm also hearing that many people in the health care business, like
nurses and doctors are going to reject taking the swine flu shot
themselves.
This tells me that there is something really wrong with this vaccine
if health care providers won't even take it.

Good point H/A. And they have good reason. It'll be rushed. Look what happened in 76. It all started with just a handful of soldiers at a military base and spun out of control in the media. A vaccine was rushed and a bunch of people died. We dont want a repeat event. I wouldnt take it either if I were them. We wont know the long term effects of these vaccines for a while so I'm staying clear of them. If they decide to go mandatory, they are gonna have quite a problem because there are a lot of people saying they wont take it.

I,m waiting for the government to show the people that the swine
flu vaccine is safe by showing live on tv with them taking the
shot. Of cource, their shots won't be nothing more than seralized
water.

probably true H/A. What pisses me off is that they are talking about who should get the vaccine first, and pregnant women are at the top of the list. They actually said that they wanted to test this on pregnant women! That's bull! pregnant women have a developing fetus inside them obviously...should be no vaccines allowed. We dont know the long term effects on adults and children, let alone a developing fetus. Idiots! (not you guys of course, the gov.)

I'm thinking that they will give mandatory swine flu shots to
school children, even if the perents say no.
We will see what devolopes with-in the next couple of months.

Man, they really want people to go out and get the vaccine when it's here. They are doing more fear mongering this morning telling people that 90,000 Americans might die from swine flu (well yeah after you inject them with it through the vaccine). Now they are saying the vaccine is going to be a 2 shot treatment (3 weeks apart). Lovely...
Some say this flu was created and if so I think they were planning on it killing more people than it has so they are trying to scare people even though this seems weaker then the normal flu. They keep saying that there is going to be a stronger version of swine hit in the fall (why, because they will release a stronger strain then?). They didn't pile up all of those coffin liners for nothing folks. Somebody knows something is coming.

You know the really annoying thing that no one seems to get? If a virus gets stronger then it has to mutate....and when a virus mutates, the vaccines for that virus that are currently available are effectively useless. So why even bother getting the swine flu vaccine if it's gonna be useless against the virus in a few months, according to the officials?
Yeah, I also think it's annoying how they keep making predictions on how many people will die. It's what my dad calls a SWAG - Scientific Wild Ass Guess. They have absolutely no way of telling how many people will die. Considering that only 40 people in the United States have it at all, swine flu isn't that much of a threat.

Here's a quote from Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano:
"It is similar to what we do when we see a hurricane approaching a site. The hurricane might not actually hit but allows you to take a number of preparatory steps. We really don't know ultimately what the size or seriousness of this outbreak is going to be."
So how can they think they can get away with saying "Oh, yeah. There's gonna be 100 bajillion deaths by mid 2010. Now come here and get the cure. Cuz we're just that good."
When the hell has the government ever been good at fixing anything? I also don't like how the media keeps referring to all this as a "pandemic". Have you noticed the Gov refers to it as "outbreaks"? That's because it's politically correct red tape. Epidemics are when everyone in a small town gets infected. Pandemics are when everyone in 10 cities or so spread out over atleast two or three continents are infected. It has to be almost everyone, though. Swine flu has barely grazed us. Outbreaks are when you have people in different locations getting it but not the whole town. It's outbreaks, not epidemics, not pandemics. All that is just to scare people and sell news.

lawl Who in their right mind CHOOSES to be a test dummy for a vaccine? What kind of campus? Like a college campus?

A couple of things are a little scary in the article. I didnt like this line among others, "The agency asked its laboratory network to produce a new set of viruses for vaccine makers to use". Very interesting article. Thx.

What I don't like is the fact that it says that the testing trial won't be done for a year but the company says that the vaccine will probably be released to the market before that. What's the point of a trial if you're not gonna wait until its finished before you release the product?

They said this mutated virus is a;ready hitting people in the southern

I'd like to be able to talk tp some regular people down in that area
and see if w.h.o. is just making up lies or is this really true.

Remember bird flu? No one was panicking about that. I never even heard of a vaccine back then. Why is swine flu all of a sudden an apocalyptic warzone? I'm just gonna take my vitamin C, continue to drink plenty of water, and if it gets me, it gets me. I'm not afraid of some little ole virus. If it's my time to go then it's my time to go.
