H/A are you talking about tracers? They look like sparkly little worms or single-celled organism that flash or glow while swimming randomly about. Tracers are what we call those sparkly flashes. I think they might be little buggers floating in the liquid of your eyes and sometimes when you rub your eyes you can see them for a moment. I've never looked up what exactly this is or why you can momentarily see this. I've seen them when I was really tired, rubbed my eyes, gotten really messed up or hit my head. Maybe it is from your eyes going so out of focus that you get a glipse of whats swimming on the surface of the eye. Maybe it's light reflecting off of the microscopic organisms swimming in your eye goo. I really dont know but we call these tracers around here. But it's overlaying the image. Or are you talking about something similar to orbs? Is this something that is actually in front of you? That would be most interesting to hear about if they are.

No. I think this has more to do with my eyes. They just kind of fluctuate to a bright silver color and then down to a white color really fast. This usually only lasts a few seconds and then there gone until the next time they occur.
It's probably my own eyes seeing reflections of light off of my own eyes. There's nothing orbish <--- if that's a word, to it. They are either dots of light or tiny rectangles.
If you remember some of the old DOS windows on a pc, they kind of look like the cursor when writing text. It would flash at different increments, depending on how you set it up to flash.
That's kind of what i see but smaller.

Interesting discussion!
I like the ideas put forth by Grey and El about what a lot of "ghost activity" might actually be. It is so true that we know so very little of this universe in which we abide. There could, indeed, be multiple universes or multiple dimensions in one universe, layered like an onion, one within the other. In those "layers" there could exist many different entities that cross over from time to time and are perceived as "shadows" or "spirits." Or, they might be beings that co-exist with us here in this world, but at a light frequency that we cannot perceive, under normal circumstances. That might explain why people who never see these entities think people who DO see them are crazy!
And then again, many of these sightings could just be good old-fashioned ghosts!
Have a great one!

I have these "tracers" as well, and I certainly do not think that they float around in our eye liduid, it's impossible to focus on them and have a clear view of something else at the same time... I someytimes see these, sometimes in huge quantities but lately only 1...

I did forget to mention that when i see those shinny silvery lights that there are many of them at one time. For me, it's never just one. I don't see these very often but when i do, there is many of them.
I should do some research on this. Maybe it's a sign of an illness or eye problems.

I have these "tracers" too. Yet another person who does. They only appear if I don't focus on anything, and then I can see them. When I'm focusing on something, then I don't see them.

So do I, mate. It's normal. I've noticed you can see them more clearly if you're outside in the sunlight. I have no idea what they are. I've never really thought about it.

Okay...a question for you!
Are "tracers" anything akin to the silvery shining lights one sees from time to time when the lights are off, as in a darkened room? I occasionally see such lights, but always thought they were just some ocular phenomena; i.e., perhaps the eyes adjusting to a sudden transition from light to darkness. They almost appear to be some kind of bioelectrical occurrence, a nerve impulse in the eye, perhaps?

I'm not for sure what they mean when they say tracers but i have a clue. Sometimes, i can see floaty things moving around on my eyeballs and they kind of move like things you would see in your blood as seen through a microscope.
I can only see these when there is light in the room. Even if i close my eye lids and as long as there is light in the room, i can sometimes see these things moving around on my eyeballs.
These are darker in appearance and not the bright shinny things i sometimes see.

Interesting. The brain is immensely complex and exciting. I once dreamed of becoming a neurophysicist. Alas, the draw of revolution captures my soul far more than the understanding of the brain. Perhaps one day I will have the time to feed that passion as well.

Hmmm... Munch! Munch! Munch! (The sound of Cal chewing on this information awhile.)
Hmmm... Nibble Nibble! Nibble Nibble! Munch Munch Munch! (Not quite there yet!)
AHA! Veeerrry Interesting! Methinks the brain beguileth overmuch!
Actually, it's a possibility that SOME (and I stress SOME) of these shadow encounters could be the result of a brain fart, but I don't think we can lump all of the experiences under that one small umbrella. And I certainly don't agree that all alien encounters are illusions or manifestations of the mind.
Good read, though, so thanks, El, for posting it!

Thanks for posting that article El, I read that somewhere else, but I can't remember where.

Yeah, I don't know how much truth there is to it. I just found it interesting how they were trying to explain some of these things. It is interesting though how sometimes when we find something that may not be related, we still categorize them all the same. Like, everything unseen is usually a ghost or like that article being an explaination for all of these things (aliens, ghost, shadow people, etc). Like Cal indicated, this might explain some of them but it is unlikely to explain all of them.

I have this notion that there are shadows in the corner of the room and its weird to have that and after you read this your going to look in every corner of your house as you walk by even the high ones where its always dark and say i know what your talking about.
It feels that it moves and fallows you around. like if you shut the light off and the shaddow can move where your going and a light from the street lamp keeps you awake your just staring into the top left corner that haves a shadow in it and you set there looking at the shadow move from one end of the room to another where its darkest and then just fall a sleep. Just lying there thinking if it realy moves or not that scary.
My life as i know it will change!
