I thought I would make a topic to keep track of the major protesting that is to come. I thought this might be a good idea since the media may not report on much of it or they will paint protesters as fanatics. There's going to be lots of protesting today in Pittsburgh against the G20, organized by the Pittsburgh G20 Resistance Project. The were saying on MSNBC that lots of law enforcement were being brought in and that there may have even been some arrests already. I havent heard much else yet. If you know of some protesting going on somewhere, feel free to post about it here.

I also heard that the military is patrolling the streets of Pittsburgh too and this has people up in arms about it.
Right now we have the military patrolling in many of the states in america. They claim they are just there the help local cops with traffic control but if asked, they will also help in making arrests.

"In response to the increasing presence of social justice activists in the city, Pittsburgh police have stepped up their presence in the downtown area around the location where the G-20 summit will be held. At a cost of approximately $10 million, 4,000 federal police are coming to Pittsburgh. This is one of the largest armed forces the Pittsburgh area has ever seen, second only to the 8,000 militiamen called in to overrun striking union members in the Homestead Strike in July 1892.
Police have already begun harassing activists. A van heading to the Three Rivers Climate Convergence was pulled over by police on the night of Friday, Sept. 18. After nearly two hours of searching the van, the police were only able to come up with a few minor citations—including “parking on the sidewalk,” which the driver had to do when the police pulled him over!"

They are protesting today in New York in response to the mandate for healthcare workers to get the swine flu vaccine. They say that the vaccine has not been tested and that they don't want to be their guinea pigs. I can't say I blame them. Forcing somebody to get a vaccine that it relatively unsafe and untested is just wrong. People should educate themselves about the safety of vaccines. It's pretty shocking. Vaccines were the bargain basement technology for the 20th century, according to Dr. Maurice Hilleman, world leading vaccine expert and chief of the Merck pharmacuetical company's vaccine division. I expect to see more of this protesting as they try to force people to take this vaccine.

Good for them.
Hope they keep up the good work. Riot police bust in there yet, claiming it to be an "uncivilized display of opinion"?

I guess students are protesting in Texas today because Obama and Bush senior are making a visit. Not exactly sure why they are there but evidentally there are people who are not happy.

Lawl. I'm against Obama but I mean, seriously, these people have to protest just because the president's coming to town? Remember when that used to be an honor?

Yeah, not so much an honor these days I guess. This president doesnt represent the same thing to people what past presidents have. More and more people are seeing this president representing the potential fall for America. Are standards of living are going down, way down soon. Our focus should be improving our stardards (not necessarily raise them) but we are on a down hill slope and Obama is leading the way. He has done a lot already to help everyone but the little guy, the people. We are the ones he is making life harder for. If all these new taxes and revised health insurance goes through, than my cost of living is going to jump up quite a bit. I am not looking forward to this at all. A recession is never the time to raise taxes and they are trying to bring in a whole wall of new taxes, possibly the most at one time in history. So to many, Obama does not represent what the president used to. He has nice words but when your actions dont back up those words, people eventually start to take notice.
They are protesting in Chicago today but I missed why. Likely something to do with people unhappy with the actions of the current administration, as usual. I'm not sure though.

I think we all need to find a way to not have to pay taxes on anything any more. We need to get a group of constitutional lawyers that aren't really in alignment with the obama administration and let them find legal loop holes that would give all americans freedom from paying any taxes.
This would seriously hurt if not shut down the government.

I don't think it should be so much that we don't pay taxes, just that we should be able to choose what our tax money goes towards and how much. That'd probably also force our oh-so-beloved politicians to cut down on spending and come up with more financially-sound solutions.
