Yup, its true man, we WANT to see aliens. Thats why a lot of people probably think they do. I mean its just like the film industry, people make films about, magic, aliens, dragons, vampires, bigfoot...etc. Just so people can get away from their lives and for an hour or two hours be sucked into another universe. Where you might find what you seek.

One difference though is that we don't have confirmed radar contacts of dragons and vampires. And mathmatically, it doesnt dictate that there should be dragons or vampires out there somewhere. Dragons and vampires dont leave environmental traces that can be measured, nor have they been photographed or claimed to have been seen by millions of people around the world. Just to keep this on the level here.....
It is illogical to assume that people believe in aliens soley for the sake of escaping reality. That likely plays a part but is by no means the entire foundation of this belief. Just my perspective on this.

Its true that people do like to escape reality, and if you do want to see something then you will see it, but yea your exactly right, and I already know this EL, I didnt mean what I said in that way, was just making a point.
I mean the biggest proof of alien existence for me would be if my brother started to believe. My brother is the biggest skeptic iv ever known and constantly laughs (albeit in a joking way) about how I like to read conspiracy theories and believe in aliens. So if someone like him "saw" something to make him believe, then that would be serious proof for me. I really don't buy into all these crack pots on youtube. And yes I realise that was totaly off topic but whatever.

Hi, Guys!
I kinda agree with all of you on some points: I think El has it right when he says that most people who believe in UFOs don't do so out of boredom, or an attempt to escape reality (after all, what IS reality anyway, hmmm? ), but because they have experienced something outside their realm of "explainability," as it were.
I know that is true of me. I certainly did NOT go looking for aliens & UFOs when I was a small child--heck, I didn't even know what such things were. For years, I had all knowledge of my experiences buried deep within the recesses of my mind (beyond even the "Z" file!). It was only after I saw a cylindrical UFO in the spring of 1993 that my memories were unlocked, and I began researching on my own, to try to make some sense out of it all.
So, I know that a lot of folks are like me: just serious seekers of the truth.
But, I also agree with Rob that there ARE some people, who may just be living vicariously through the whole "Aliens & UFOs" scenario, wanting, hoping, wishing (whatever) to see something "otherworldly" in their lifetimes.
But, Brandon made an excellent point, too (as usual ) :this forum is our "home away from home." Most of us have gotten to be friends, albeit "friends who have not officially met vis a vis yet. We enjoy one another's company, and the interesting discussions we have, as well as the goofy, fun times, in which we just cut up and have a great time.
So, Garylee, I can't answer for you, as to why you have chosen to seek out information on aliens & UFOs, but we're glad to have you aboard, and we hope you find your time here profitable and enjoyable!
It nevers hurts to ask questions and "think outside the box."
Your Pal, Cal |
