Okay, a few years back some of you may remember the Alien Abduction I talked about (almost non stop) entitled 'The People from Janos'.
Set in the 60s it is a tale of a family (10-12 members I think) all being abducted at once. When their invidual stroies were combined there was so much detail about the aliens and where they came from.
The aliens came from a planet orbiting the next nearest star (other than the Sun) and the planet was 3x bigger than Jupitar and was a rock giant. However, what interested me was a documentary about planet hunters. They had found the planet talked about in the story (they didnt know of the story of course). 40s difference between the abduction and discovery...
During my break from A&U (thats here BTW!) I read an articale in my science magazine (NewScientist) (this was at the start of '09). Scientists were baffled as NASA revealed it had planted mirrors on the moon during the Apollo missions so it could track and monitor the moons orbit...claiming they believed the moon was growing closer and closer to each with each orbit. There had been nothing that promopt NASA to do such a thing. The concept of the moon crushing into earth wasn't even a theory...then or now. So where did they get it from?
The planet mentioned in the 'People of Janos' was destroyed in that very way....
