I have an assignment for school... I have to ask a lot of people some questions about music and draw conclusions from those answers...
7 simple questions!
Age: Gender:
1. What's your favorite music genre? 2. Why?
3. What's your favorite singer/band? 4. Why?
5. How much time do you spend listening to music a week? 6. Where do you listen to music? 7. What emotions do you experience when listening to this music?

1. Metal 2. I am attracted to the level of energy and difficulty in playing it 3. I dont really have a favorite singer. I like so many for different reasons. Same with bands but if I had to pick one I would have to say Testament for fav band. 4. I just like their lead guitar player's style and the lyrics (lots of anti-government and real world stuff in there) 5. Too much, it's part of my job so I am going to say roughly 22-28 hours a week. Sometimes more, sometimes less, just depends on how many students I have on a particular week. 6. At work, in the car and at my desk (pc) 7. That's a difficult question to answer. It's the music's job to bring out whatever emotions the artist was trying to put forth so I would have to say that it depends on the song.

Age: 17 Gender: Female
1. What's your favorite music genre? Anything that sounds pleasing to my ear. 2. Why? There's something good that I like in hearing all types of music. They all have their own unique tune that I enjoy listening to, so I'm pretty open to anything. What sounds good to me is good.
3. What's your favorite singer/band? When I was younger it used to be Christina Aguilera because I admired her voice, but now there are many artists that I love and I can't pick any individual one. 4. Why? I...don't really know.
5. How much time do you spend listening to music in a week? It depends on my mood. I never really payed attention to how often I listen to music. I'm not really dependent on it.
6. Where do you listen to music? Usually at home because my mother blasts music a lot. Sometimes I listen to it in other places, but that depends if other people I'm around play it or not.
7. What emotions do you experience when listening to this music? It depends on the genre. Usually salsa puts me in a happy mood, relaxing music puts me in a calm mood, metal puts me in a...I don't know mood, and the list can go on from there.
I hope I helped you with your assignment. Good luck Daan Tant.

Why would a school worry about what kind of music people listen to and since when has polling people for there likes and dislikes and the kind of mood music puts you in, ever been a required school assignment?
Call me a conspiracist, but this looks like the government collecting data on people using the school system.
No thank-you. I'll pass on this.
This is by no means, nothing against you though, so don't get me wrong.

Hey, Daan!
I'll put in my 2 Cents worth!
Age: Older than the hills Gender: Female
1. Favorite music genre: Doo-Wop and 60s-70s rock; I also love Celtic music
2.Why? Doo-Wop (50s music) is just fun. Although I grew up in the 60s, I still remember hearing the old Doo_Wop music on radio & TV. I was in Jr. High and High School when rock was "the Groovy Music."
3. Favorite singer/band: I'm a big fan of CCR; I also like the Moody Blues; and I love Celtic Women (uh, the singing group, that is! )
4. Why? Partly because it's the music I grew up with. The Celtic music just sounds so lovely and soothing to my ear...
5. I listen to music only when I'm driving--so, probably not that many hours altogether. But I sing alot around the house!
6. Again--while I am driving: I listen to either the radio (Oldies Station) or my CDs.
7. As El said, it depends on the music. Celtic music can make me feel almost transported to another time & place (kind of an ethereal feeling); CCR makes me feel sassy & brassy! And the Doo-Wop music instills a sort of nostalgic, happy feeling.
Hope that helps!
Have a great week, and I hope you get an A on your assignment!

Thanks Cal, I love Celtic music as well!
Listen to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DN1LgBGJLE0&feature=related
same song, sung a little faster... : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRpNVMjnDmY&feature=quicklist
Lyrics: (might have some typos in it, didn't get this from an official lyrics site)
Three young sailors (tra la la la lala la) Three young sailory went on a journey
The wind drove them To the new world
Beside the stone of the old mill They lowered anchor
And in the mill There was a servant
She asked me Where we got to know each other
In Nantes at the market We chose a ring
The ring of engagement And we were short before marriage
We will marry Even if we don't have any goods
My mother, you are living comfortable You don't know who is suffering
We have neither house nor straw Nor bed to sleep at night
We have neither sheet nor blanket Or quilt (pillow?) beneath our heads
We will do it like the down-and-out We will sleep on the floor
We will do it like the partridge When the sun rises, it runs away
My song is at an end The one who knows, may continue

Thanks, Daan!
I love the song, and the soundtrack was awesome, too! I felt like finding a circle of trees and dancing! (Wonder if the wolves will be there?....)
Have a wonderful week!

I have no school tommorow ^^ Splendid... I'll listen to Celtic music instead of following boring classes! :D
How could I forget about this one... I listen to it every day but forgot to include it in my earlier message... It's the soundtrack from a town in the game: "Heroes 3"
