Starmom said: "i dont mind sceptics, i can certainly understand their reluctance to believe something not proven. what i mind are people who think we are crazy, stupid, godless, but then, i think the same of them. one encounter, face to face, changes everything." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That is the point. Mom, I never try to convince anyone becuase, inevitably, the lables start being affixed. The one thing that I can say to add to your poignant statement is that I would never wish a face to face for many of the people out there today. Convincing someone by shattering their belief systems leaves a person scared and without a system to absorb their experiences. They become unstable and question their own mind. The world is already saturated with medicated people who struggle with the simplest notions of thier existence. They can hardly comprhend or deal with human to human encounters, how can we expect them to be able to cope with anything more.
Those who know, know because they can handle it. Those who do not--cannot. Believing is fine, but this is not a religion. It is not a matter of faith. A tangible experience can expand a persons awareness, or it can shatter a less stable person.
I am enjoying all of your comments and discussions. I am not an expert, only one who doesn't need to be convinced.
It is what it is...believing or disbelieving doesn't change that it "is". |

"Those who know, know because they can handle it..."
agrueed, but not for a 100%. I'd say "Those who know, know because they are strong enough.". i went trough a pretty rough time, but thats more because of me than the knowledge im finding latley. The black fact is that people like us must be strong. I mean, who wouln't get scared about all these things we say about 2012? who wouldn't be scared if its more or less proven that our entire economoical system will fail?
I know because i wana know, but that doesn't mean that i can naturallly handle it. I know im strong enough, and i've grown latly on spiritual level. It made me stronger, thats for sure.
lets just say that im more or less changing my entire lifestyle. Without this, i wouldn't be able to handle it, but luckly i feel that with those changes i feel myself getting stronger and more sure about thing.
The bottomline is, not everybody coming here is strong enough. They wana know but are unsure, and i feel it like it is our responsability to take care of those people. They feel unsure about they're knowledge and very often just wana find a listening ear...
Anyway, welcome on the forum :)

Thank you for the welcome.
I agree that this is a welcoming site that allows for the curious as well as dubious to visit, interact, question, and give testimonials.
While I may be new to this site, the topics that this site are effectually, and eruditely discussing are not new to me.
It pleases me that this is a forum that all that come to visit may participate in; however, it does not negate the fact that many people have no desire to explore potential experiences, that worse yet, are hell bent on discrediting anyone who comes forward to share their experiences.
Starmom made a comment of which I agree completely. I was not suggesting that you or anyone else should be silent. I was suggesting that sharing is a good thing, but do not be dissappointed if you or anyone else cannot get validation by others who have not had a face to face.
I leave behind the missionary attitude. I am not an expert, my destiny is not to convert; therefore, I do not feel disappointment when others heckle, or persecute me for sharing.
As far as 2012 goes, take a deep breath. You will be a participant, but you will not be able to stop the future. All doomsday dates that have come and gone have affected many people, and no matter what they did to prepare the dates came and went. A man named Hume once said, "Man is as inconsequential as an oyster at the bottom of the ocean." In the vastness of the universe, should our existence be snuffed out by a "god" an asteroid, or whatever, the universe will keep expanding, life will go on, and all will be as it should be--whether we like it or not or are a part of it.
Contemplating our end does not give us a more appreciable platform to exist. In my opinion, your time would be better spent feeding the homeless, writing poetry, or going for long walks and birdwatching. It would be better than stockpiling food, and scaring the crud out of people who can barely meet their daily needs as it is.
Just my opinion.

we have all been raised on this end-of-the-world crapola. in the 50's, a group of people determined the last day of life and ran to hide in caves. were they disappointed to find life going on in the fullness of the next day? yes, a giant asteroid could blow us back to starust. there's possibility and probability. you can drive yourself crazier trying to weigh it all out. and then, take your tired mind and sit and observe nature. fall is coming. you can feel its approach. the cycles move up the spiral and the stars spin and we are dizzied by it. rule number one from a retired go-go dancer, stay in the song.
2012 may mean the end of all things. or it may mean the end of all things as we know them now. or it may mean yet another fruitless prediction by men who crave the drama of their own destruction. there's a far better tale to write than this. we are all the co authors of this tale.
consider the construction of the cosmos. mathematical, the energy of chaos directed and organized. the implicit design. if the whole universe is a contrived perfection, are you as human beings not of the same perfection?
our little dustball of a planet spins in its routine orbit. the milky way journeys thru the cosmos on a spiral of its own. and we follow that same path.
to where? "there must be a place, there must be a place, where all is light" (lawrence ferlinghetti, "olber's paradox")
there is a better message to share than death and destruction. there is always that chance, that last dance glimmer of hope, that we can transcend and rise and shine.
my dream is that we will, that we , the people of earth will join a galactic community, one in which there will be trade, commerce, friendships, alliances, technologies beyond our imaginings, but first we have to grow up. if 2012 is a birthday for a new humanity, so be it. it's about time.

Hi my name is sue, and I am new. I am very interested in this subject as I have encountered seeing two UFO. It was one late evening when I was walking my dog on a field. it was very dark and there was no one around suddenly I saw a bright light, and it was like a torch on me. I froze on the spot, my dog ran away. suddenly the light went off me, and I was quite scared but mesmerized on what had happened. Suddenly I saw this UFO it had lights all around, it was spectacular. Then last friday I was sitting in my living room, watching telly I glanced out of the window and noticed a very bright light. We live in a tower block of flats. So I went into the kitchen to get a better view, and there was a UFO it was hovering in the sky, then suddenly it was coming towards me, I looked up in amazement, then it went so fast and disappeared. There is so much evidence in Aliens visiting our earth. The government is hiding this from us all. I don't know why, maybe there worried on the panic on people that they might cause. Aliens are interested in us, because apparently the greys thats the other types of aliens, well they were destroyed by the government because apparently the greys wanted to strike a deal in capturing a few humans taking out there inner organs and also wanted cows aswell. The greys were technically minded and they wanted to know how us humans reproduce. because they cant. |

Hi sue. Welcome to the forums. Have you ever watched "Fire In The Sky"? You talk about a light focused on you during your experience. This guy from that movie claimed to have had the same thing happen to him except in his case, the light some how knocked him out. Did you have the feeling of not being able to move while the light was on you? |

I'm sure Amazon.com would have it to. For a free movie, you could try finding it from a bit torrent website as FrmBlvr already said or if you have limewire, you could check that out. |
